Although we’ve had to cancel our main event, we’ve been working hard to bring you our exciting support projects and alternative event plans for 2020
Just Ask is an all year-round project launched by Chester Pride this year to offer help, advice and support of a wide range of LGBT+ related issues, such as mental health, physical and mental domestic abuse, homelessness, legal matters & coming out to friends and family, and transitioning with gender reassignment. You can receive free advice, help and support by emailing us at email@example.com or by using the WhatsApp service on 07718 066 684
Our new mental health and wellbeing program encourages you to pop the kettle on and take 5 minutes out of your day to just have some ‘me time’. Enjoy a brew in your free Chester Pride mug that has a wide range of advice and information contacts, plus some fun 5 minute mental and physical activities. To claim your free mug, email us on firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and postal address. Mugs are limited to 1,000 on a first come, first served basis so be quick!
Launching later in the year (once safely out of the current Coronavirus restrictions) Out & About is a new social networking project offering a wide range of LGBT+ related social gatherings. Be it at a local place of interest or further afield, people of all ages who are currently looking to socialise with other like minded people can get together. All details for our planned events will be released on our website and social media.
The Box Project is the first of its kind from any UK Based pride, offering a free regular condom and sanitary product service to people who need them. Working closely with our Box Project partner Virgin Care, we will actively encourage people to take more pride in their sexual health by having regular testing to know your sexual status. Launching initially as a postal service over the next few months, the Box Project will then be rolled out as a service available at a wide range of bars, pubs, clubs and other public areas.
Chester Pride is pleased to announce the arrival of several focus groups for a wide range of our community focusing on offering help, advice and support with workshops, training and more. These groups will be hosted online and in person. Groups will include Trans and non-binary support networks, LGBT+ older persons groups, parent and baby groups, youth, and younger persons projects, plus host of other key groups to help people in our community.
Chester Pride will go digital later in 2020 with a mixture of social media based live and pre-recorded performances from an array of talent, online workshops and advice, plus much more to cater for people of all ages, genders and sexual orientation. More details will be released on our social media platforms in due course.
